Summary of event:

Cowboy GRIT board members updated the community on some exciting developments. First of all, GRIT has redirected their focus from the original project of creating the Circle-C student run grocery store, to the urgent facilities needs of the Cody-Kilgore Schools. Secondly, due to their non-profit, tax-exempt status, Cowboy GRIT, Inc. can now facilitate vital new funding sources for the school building project. Most notably, “Subscription Contracts” are now available so that donors can pledge contributions to the project to be paid once certain conditions are met, such as the passage of a bond. This eliminates the “chicken or the egg” problem we encountered with our first bond vote as we can now ensure the level of private support prior to the next bond vote.
